IMMERSE WALK SOCIAL - World Peace Cafe

What a lovely day we had today! A group of us walked from The Great Northern Pub in Mickleover to the World Peace Cafe. The weather was beautiful, and we were so lucky. There’s nothing like enjoying one of the first proper days of spring. What a treat!

A Perfect Walking Route

The walk itself is forgiving. It’s suitable for all abilities and features flat paths away from busy roads. Perfect for our furry friends!

Honey, Rosie, Hector, and Mable made up our little dog crew today. Despite being a variety of breeds, they all enjoyed the freedom of being off-lead. Each dog had its own unique experience along the route.

A Rewarding Journey

The round trip was 10 miles, taking us about 3 hours to walk to and from the World Peace Cafe. After a lovely fuel stop at the cafe, we returned down the public path. It’s completely safe, allowing the dogs to remain off-lead for most of the journey.

Discovering the World Peace Cafe

The World Peace Cafe is a hidden gem nestled in beautiful grounds. It radiates good energy. We sat outside in the sunshine while the dogs relaxed, snacking and enjoying well-deserved drinks.

The menu is simple yet satisfying and reasonably priced! I savoured the Soup and Panini special. I had a goats cheese and caramelised onion panini, swapping half with one of the gang for a Halloumi and pesto half, which was equally amazing! The soup of the day was Mexican bean soup—yum! Of course, after lunch, it’d be rude not to indulge in cake. I enjoyed a slice of coffee cake with a flat white. The dogs had a nice chill before we set off back to The Great Northern.

The Joy of Sunshine and Community

Days like today make you appreciate the difference a bit of sunshine can make. Being in the best company is everything. Community truly matters!
