What a lovely day we had today - a group of us walked from The Great Northern Pub in Mickleover to the World Peace Cafe.
It was such beautiful weather - we were so lucky. There is nothing like taking in one of the first proper days of spring weather. What a treat.

The walk itself is such a forgiving route - suitable for all abilities and involves flat path walking away from roads. Perfect for the dogs!
Honey, Rosie, Hector and Mable were our little dog crew today and to say they were such a variety of breeds, they all pottered off lead and enjoyed their own experience of the route.

The walk there and back in total was 10 miles. Resulting in about 3 hours walking to and from the World Peace Cafe. After a beautiful fuel stop at the cafe, we returned back down the public path so it’s completely safe and possible for dogs to remain off lead for pretty much the whole duration of the walk.

The World Peace Cafe is a hidden gem of a place nestled in wonderful grounds. It carries good energy.
We sat outside in the sunshine and the dogs enjoyed sitting down, eating snacks and enjoyed a well deserved drink.
The menu is simple but satisfying! And reasonably priced! I enjoyed the Soup and Panini special - goats cheese and caramelised onion panini (swapping one half with one of the gang to gain a Halloumi and pesto half which was also amazing!) the soup of the day was Mexican bean soup - yum! Of course after eating lunch it’d be rude not to have cake! So I enjoyed a slice of coffee cake also with a flat white. The dogs had a nice chill before we set off back to The Great Northern.

Days like today make you really appreciate the difference a bit of sunshine makes… as well as being in the best company - community truly is everything!
The next walk is on 22nd March around Belper, Millford, The Chevin in a nice big interesting loop 🙌🏼 come along and join! Everyone is welcome! Dog Friendly.
