ABOUT US
THE OWNERS
TERRY MOHR
Over the years I’ve moved around the world quite a bit. I was born and brought up in Zimbabwe, but have also spent time in the Middle East, London and Cape Town. Now I am settled here, although in my spare time I consider the best thing in the world to be sailing the seas with my wife and two teenage children. I always say my favourite colour is turquoise as it reminds me of the ocean.
I was once in the ‘Rag Trade’ working with garment and fabric processing as well as retail logistics and I’ve also been involved with self-storage and property development businesses, but now I am putting my years of experience to good use with Immerse Gyms.
MY BEST ADVICE
Whatever task you are on, do it well so you can be proud upon its completion.
SOPHIA GAIQUI
My career used to be in engineering procurement and business development, but as exercising and helping people have always been important to me it became more and more obvious that what I should be doing is coaching, so I took the plunge and changed direction.
I started with a blend of corporate and coaching, but once I realised my ambition of becoming a full-time coach I have never looked back. Now being part of the Immerse Gyms team, as an owner and coach, is a dream come true.
MY BEST ADVICE
Fall forwards – everything you do is an experience from which you can learn.
GEORGIE BARKER
I am passionate about all thing fitness and training and as well as my involvement with Immerse Gyms, I am also a swimming teacher, massage therapist, yoga teacher and personal trainer.
When I’m not taking a class I relax by embarking on long walks and eating good food.
MY BEST ADVICE
I believe you can do whatever you want to do and be whatever you want to be, life is too short, if you want it, go get it.
THE COACHES
SOPHIA GAIQUI
I live in Belper with my children Charlie and Florence and spend most of my spare time (what’s that!) with my family. I love crafting and making things with my daughter and all of us enjoy travelling and trying new experiences. I used to cycle and ride my motorbike, but that’s on hold now as I devote more time to my new career in fitness and coaching.
I am a qualified British weightlifting Level 2 Coach, CrossFit Level 1 Coach, rehab and specialist coach and am Kettlebells and TRX accredited.
KATE GASIOR
I admit to being a workaholic so I never seem to have any spare time, but I adore what I do and as it all revolves around gym and sport Immerse Gyms fits in perfectly with my life. I have Level 2 Gym, Level 3 PT and Level 3 Sports Therapy qualifications and I am also a Fascia and Emotional Release practitioner.
There are obviously times when I’m not working and then I love nothing more than enjoying good food – I’ll eat anything but I especially love a freshly baked loaf of bread.
THE RECEPTION
AMELIA MARLES (Aka Mimi)
Family and friends are important to me and I love having them close by in Duffield where I live. I am mum to two young boys and they certainly keep me on my toes. Immerse Gyms came into my life when I suffered a knee injury and had to build my strength so I could keep playing my favourite sport, netball, which I just couldn’t live without. I have also been a primary school and PE teacher as well as a private tutor and Bee Netball coach.
My tip is stop putting things off and get on with it.
EMMA SULLIVAN
I’m from Derby and a mum to my precious dog, Dixie! I love so much food, and love trying new stuff, but anything with cheese on is a winner. I’m a little bit of a nerd, I love playing video games and watching anime.
I also absolutely love Motorsport and being outdoors! My first profession is tattoo artist, I also work in the motor trade. Currently doing my Level 2 Gym & Level 3 PT course I used to have a horse called Tangles.
My tip is to find movement and exercise that works for you! Make it fun and enjoyable, let it be something you look forwards to!
